Black and White

There is nothing like a classic black and white photo. B&W just does something to a picture that can make it go from an OK picture, to just beautiful! Here are a few from some recent weddings.

Church Golf

So this was my first attempt at "event photography". Other than the weather being ridiculously HOT, it wasn't all that bad. I got to enjoy a nice golf cart ride around a beautiful course and snap a few photos along the way. Most of my photography is inside, or at least when the temperature outside isn't unbearable, so it was interesting getting to experience the great outdoors with my camera. I had no idea how tiring outdoor photography is...the heat really wears you out. In any case, I had fun, and I think the golfers enjoyed it also.

Baby Hazel

What a precious little angel! She has got to be the sweetest little darling...so cooperative and photogenic :)

Josh and Ashley

Word of mouth realy works! I met this amazing couple through a mutual friend (who I happened to photograph previously). They are so adorable together! Working so hard to plan their wedding and have all the details in line...they seem to have their lives just where they want them :) When we discussed photo locations, their first thought was downtown Richmond, where their relationship all began. How amazing...I love it :) Keep an lookout for future sessions with this awesome couple!

Austen and Rachel

This was a great couple. I love their positive attitude and honesty. They understood that this day was about them and they wanted to enjoy sharing it together! The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was intimate, just close family and friends enjoying each others company. The weather was beautiful, the locations were excellent...all in all, I think it turned out to be an excellent day ending in a casual walk in downtown Richmond, just bride and groom!

Bun in the Oven

So, I have officially decided that I LOVE maternity photos! Granted, I have not experienced a newborn session (but that will be coming in May 2010) but I had such an awesome time working with Kelsey! There is just something beautiful about a baby bump...maybe its the realization of an infant being inside or just the way the female body is able to cope with such an incredible development...I don't know...it's just awesome! Hopefully, Hazel Lynn is just the beginning of something totally exciting for me...who knows!

Mr. and Mrs. Headley

Once again, I was invited to be the second photographer at this wedding. Such an adorable couple. From the moment I met them, it was almost as if you could literally see the love floating around them. Throughout the rehearsal, they would casually glance over at each other and smile, even if the other wasn't looking. On wedding day, they were determined to maintain all of the traditions to-a-tee...even if it meant the bride was yelling to keep doors closed as she walked through the sanctuary. From the family heirloom gown to the engraved wedding bands, the wedding turned out perfect! And it didn't hurt that the cathedral was gorgeous...what a canvas to photograph against!
